A tour of the proposed Paull Village Enhancement Scheme : 8

view of Paull sea wall

This view is from the elevated rough pathway, directly above the position of the previous photo. The walkway is ill-defined and often inaccessible following wet weather. The views onto the estuary are unsurpassed. To the left of the photograph, beyond the hawthorn hedgerow, lies the moated fortification of Paull Point Battery (Fort Paull) with clearly visible gun emplacements on display. The path links to the fort's perimeter path and continues on along the bank top to link up with the lighthouses and onwards to Sunk Island.

Recommendations are:

  • Introduce all year / all-weather footpaths with good edge demarcation to accommodate wheelchair use and upper pathway access to the picnic basins and hardstanding view areas
