A tour of the proposed Paull Village Enhancement Scheme : 5
This view gives a better impression of the river-edge "promenade," providing both an enjoyable walk route and a facility for moving boats to and from the car park to the slipway and storage compound. The pier - included to provide greater access to the river for water sports and fishing - is on the site of an original pier which served the nearby gun battery (Fort Paull) and the adjacent Royal Engineers facility.
The artist's impression below includes some detail of seating provision and of the children's play area on the sports field, close to the car park. The inclusion of appropriate lighting to this part of the promenade would significantly increase evening access.
Recommendations are:
Re-route path/road access along the river edge to provide a route for boat movement
Demarcation of promenade edge and provision of bench seating
Provision of river-edge handrails (safety)
Installation of a pier on the site of the original, for river access
Installation of some form of street lighting along the promenade from the pier to the slipway
